USA Soccer Team Crushed By Brasil

Dispite hopes of an historic victory coach Bob Bradley's brave USA team were cruely denied in an epic battle here in Ellis Park South Africa against a resilliant Brasil side.

But that's only half the story, it all started so well for the US as they raced into a 10th minute lead given them by Clint Dempsey scoring his 3rd goal of the tournment to the shock of the Brasilians and things were to get worse for Brasil as Landon Donovan made it 2 zero in the 27th minute leaving brasil shell-shocked and in total dissarry and to all those watching there seemed there could only be one winner!

But after the break all change. Brasil ranked number 2. in the world stepped up a gear and clawed back a goal in the 46th minute through Luis Fabiano. And the same player scrambled a second goal in the 74th minute making the scores level at 2-2 (that goal made him top scorer of the 2009 Confederations Cup).

It was a game of two halves the USA taking the intiative and working hard to deny Brasil time and space but in the second half they ran out of steam as Brasil exherted relentless pressure and finally in the 84th minute Brasil captain Lucio snatched a last gasp winner to give Brasil their third triumph in the Confederation Cup.

US vs Spain Soccer Semi-Final Result

Stunned scenes in South Africa as the US Soccer team dump Spain out of the Confederation Cup! What makes this victory so incredible is the fact that Spain are no ordinary side, not only are they the reigning european champions but also the number one ranked team in the world with an impressive string of results over the past 3 years.

In fact Spain's record was somewhat astonnishing, unbeaten for 35 games dating back to 2006 - 15 straight wins, 25 wins in a row if you count penalty shoot-outs! But all that has gone now.....AND HOW!

The shock of this result will reverberate around the globe as the US soccer team were not expected to have a hope in hell of beating the superstar Spain team. With players who ply their trade in the most glamourous and competitive leagues on the planet in Spain, England and Italy. Yet Coach Bradley's team had not read the script.

Right from the first whistle they were snapping at the spainards not giving them a chance to settle, making crunching takles and denying them space. Then in the 27th minute after some slick work from Clint Dempsey striker Jozy Altidore (who ironically plays his soccer in Spain) out muscled his defender and unleashed an unstoppable shot passed the helpless Spainish goalkeeper.

In the 74th minute Clint Dempsey who plays for Fulham FC. in the English Premier League scored what turned out to be the winner and put the US through to an historic Confederation Cup Final.

What makes this result or the more remarkable is the fact that 3 days ago the US team were on the verge of elimination from the competition needing a 6 goal swing in their final group game. Amazingly they deafeated Egypt 3-0 and Brazil beat their nearest rival Italy 3-0 as well, plus in all three of their games the US have had a man sent off, against Spain it was the coaches son Micheal Bradley.

David Carradine Death Photo

The family of Hollywood actor David Carradine are said to be disgusted and angry at Thai authorities. With what can only be described as a disgraceful decision, to release pictures of David Carradine as he was found dead on Thursday morning in the closet of his hotel room.

Numerous publications have gone to print depicting graphic images of the Hollywood legend hanging in his closet completely naked. At first police in Thailand had believed the 'Kill Bill' star had committed suicide, a claim that was fiercely denied by his friends and family. More doubt was cast on the police's statement due to the lack of a suicide note.

They have since dismissed this idea and are now convinced David Carradine's death was a tragic accident. An accident caused whilst performing a sex act upon himself involving strangulation to heighten the excitement by cutting of the supply of oxygen to the brain.

Results of the autopsy which was carried out on Friday will not be known for another three weeks. Until then conclusive evidence as to the circumstances surrounding Carradine's death remain a mystery.

This new twist with the publication of the actual death scene will no doubt, heap more embarrassment and anguish on a family attempting to come to terms with the shock departure of a loved one.

Britain's Got Talent 2009 Final

Britain's Got Talent 2009 grand final provided a shock result. As teenage dance group sensation Diversity stole the show with an electrifying and imaginative performance which ultimately took the title away from the runner-up Susan Boyle.

The Britain's got talent judges could not single out a clear runner for the title and described this years grand final as the closest yet with 6 or more acts capable of winning. With standards so high heartbreak was inevitable, before the start of the final the smart money was heading for global phenomenon Susan Boyle. The Scottish spinster with the voice of a diva was a dead cert for the main prize.

But it was to be Diversity a group of kids who's ages range from 10 -20 years old who produced a stunning routine to snatch the crown of Britain's got talent 2009 along with a chance to perform their smoking hot dance moves in front of the queen.

Susan Boyle gracious in defeat said this "The best act won" and heaped praise upon her victors claiming they have immense talent!
This was a stunning climax to a show that has been rocked with controversy, especially after last night when the Britain's got talent judges changed the rules to allow 10 year old Hollie Steel a second crack as she forgot her lines in mid song!

But tonight's show went off without a hitch and Britain's voted in their millions for the most talented dance group ever seen on the show.

2009 ACC Tournament Championship

GREENSBORO - Maryland is the women's 2009 ACC Tournament champion.

With a 92-89 overtime victory over Duke in the championship game at Greensboro Coliseum, the top-seeded Terrapins claimed their first conference title since 1989 and their ninth overall.
Duke senior Abby Waner's 3-point attempt with 1.6 seconds remaining in the extra period missed off glass and Maryland freshman Lynetta Kizer secured the rebound.

Duke forced overtime on the final possession of the second half when senior center Chante Black rose high to put back a missed shot by sophomore Jasmine Thomas.
Black, who had collected the rebound on Maryland's previous possesion and started the break with an outlet pass, secured position on the right block and with one hand grabbed the rebound and put the shot in softly off glass with about a second remaining in regulation.

Maryland's Kristi Toliver raced down court and launched a shot at the buzzer that landed short.
Maryland led Duke 40-36 at halftime.
Maryland closed the first half with two 3-point plays – one natural and one old-fashion – and took a slim lead in a half that remained close throughout.

As expected, Maryland senior duo of Toliver and Marissa Coleman led the Terrapins in scoring. Coleman scored 13 points and presented problems for the Devils' defense, which rotated from man-to-man to zone in the first half....
